Gun Violence Strikes Brooklyn: 14-Year-Old Boy Shot at School Playground, NYPD Says
DEBARYLIFE – Police reported that a 14-year-old child was shot and injured on Sunday night inside a playground in Brooklyn that was close to a middle school.
Just after 5 p.m., the adolescent was injured by gunfire once in the left foot while at Bildersee Playground, which is located behind IS 68 near Flatlands Avenue and East 81st Street in Canarsie, according to the NYPD.
Police said that he was rushed to the neighboring Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.
As the NYPD looks into the incident, it’s unclear if the victim was meant to be the target.

Following the shooting, no one has been taken into custody.
The municipal Parks department website states that the playground where the youngster was shot opened in 1965 and is next to IS 068 Isaac Bildersee School.
In addition to handball courts, a running track, synthetic turf fields, and basketball courts, the park also features a general play area.
