Hamas terrorists now also ready for CEASEFIRE in Gaza after Israel & Hezbollah agree to truce after 14 months of war

According to reports, HAMAS is prepared to reach a ceasefire deal with Israel if a ceasefire with Hezbollah was established in Lebanon.

Mediators are prepared to mediate a “serious” agreement and prisoner exchange, a top official from the terror organization based in Palestine told AFP.

“We have informed mediators in Egypt, Qatar and Turkey that Hamas is ready for a ceasefire agreement and a serious deal to exchange prisoners,” they stated.

American and Israeli officials have long expressed the hope that a peace in Lebanon would encourage Hamas to follow suit.

However, during the more than a year of bloody combat in Gaza, both Israel and Hamas have consistently rejected potential agreements.

Israel has maintained that troops must remain in Gaza and near the Egyptian border with the Strip.

Hamas has demanded that Israel Defense Force (IDF) forces leave the area entirely.

At least 100 Israeli captives, some of whom are dead, are still being held captive in the Gaza Strip, which has also been a major point of contention.

At 2 a.m. GMT on Wednesday, the battle in Lebanon came to a halt, and throngs of civilians flocked south to their homes.

Israel advised residents to wait for the IDF to evacuate before returning to places like Beirut, where the majority of the fighting has taken place.

After a year of back-and-forth, the IDF invaded Lebanon in September with the goal of destroying Hezbollah, Iran’s biggest and most potent terror proxy.

According to the Lebanese health ministry, Israel’s airstrikes on the nation since October 2023 have resulted in at least 3,823 fatalities and 15,000 injuries.

Approximately 1.2 million people were displaced by the fighting, according to officials.

Hezbollah strikes in Israel have killed at least 75 people. The strikes came from Lebanon.

On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the agreement, saying Israel had damaged Hezbollah.

He said that IDF operations had killed 2,000 fighters from the Iran-backed organization.

He stated: “On October 8, Hezbollah decided to launch an attack against us from that location. A year has gone by, and Hezbollah has changed.

“We killed all of the organization’s top officials, destroyed the majority of its rockets and missiles, killed thousands of terrorists, and demolished the terrorist and underground infrastructure that was constructed close to our border over many years.

“We launched attacks on key targets across Lebanon… Lebanon is not the same. Although it seems like science fiction, none of this is.

In the event that Hezbollah launches another attack, he also promised to resume the strikes on Lebanon.

“If Hezbollah tries to attack us, if it arms itself and rebuilds infrastructure near the border, we will attack,” he stated.

Hezbollah has agreed to withdraw its forces from any area below the Litani River, which is only 20 miles from the border, in exchange for the deployment of some 5,000 Lebanese army soldiers to the south.

Israel thinks this will help shield its northern residents from short-range missile attacks and a potential surprise terror attack similar to the one that occurred on October 7.

Additionally, UN peacekeepers have been sent to southern Lebanon.

Hamas, which carried out last year’s October 7 terror strike on Israel, was not involved in the agreement.

During his speech, Netanyahu pledged to return the remaining hostages in Gaza and to keep up the assault against Hamas.

The terrible onslaught claimed the lives of some 1,200 Israelis and foreigners, while 250 more were abducted into Gaza.
