Hannah Kobayashi’s family react to shock claims she ‘voluntarily disappeared’ before dad’s suicide – as NEW CCTV emerges
The distraught family of the missing Hannah Kobayashi has responded to shocking police allegations that she purposefully vanished.
On November 11, the day she stopped responding to family and friends, the Hawaii woman is shown in new CCTV footage purchasing a bus ticket to Mexico.
Unfortunately, once Hannah changed her plans and vanished without telling anybody, Ryan, Hannah’s father, spent over two weeks looking for her in the incorrect city.
Now, a picture from the recently released video shows Hannah purchasing a bus ticket to the US-Mexico border on November 11 at Union Station in Los Angeles while holding her passport and a luggage.
Hannah went “voluntarily” and went on a digital detox, according to police.
However, Hannah’s distraught sister has described how the desperate family has been “confused” and “frustrated” by the Los Angeles Police Department’s findings.

They fear that by making the statement, people would abandon their search for Hannah, even though they still think she may have been abducted or trafficked.
“Kobayashi expressed the desire to step away from modern connectivity,” according to LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell police on Tuesday, implying that she had just undergone a digital detox.
Sydni responded, “It’s really discouraging to hear that and not have our family run it first.”
They are even more worried because Hannah’s age was seven years off in the police statement.
Hannah is thirty years old, although the LAPD said she was twenty-three.
The distraught family claims that the LAPD has abandoned the investigation because they are at a loss for what to do.
I don’t want to criticize the LAPD, Sydni added. If they are doing what they are doing, I don’t want to disparage them.
We are currently rather perplexed as to their current location.
She went out and about to do her own thing, is how it kind of appears to put it.
Since Sydni is aware that her sister would have come forward following the news of her father’s demise, she continues to think that Hannah is in danger.
Sydni stated: In her normal state of mind, she would never have considered not contacting anyone given my father’s demise and its pervasiveness.
Three days after leaving her house in Hawaii, Hannah was spotted again on November 11 while roaming about Los Angeles.
She traveled by bus from Los Angeles to San Ysidro, California, and then crossed the border into Tijuana, Mexico, on November 12.
At 12:13 p.m., Hannah was captured on camera as she passed through the Port of Entry tunnel.
When cameras captured her crossing the border on November 12, police said she was going alone with her bags.
Since then, there has been no verified communication with Hannah.
Ryan, Hannah’s father, traveled to Los Angeles in an attempt to find his daughter, but he was sadly discovered dead in a parking lot after searching in the incorrect location.
The public has been urged by Hannah’s family to continue searching and reporting sightings.
According to the LAPD, their search for Hannah is still ongoing.
