Harley-Davidson bikes could be getting major overhaul as current storage feature design hits decade-old mark

Harrison:Fans are eager to see what the brand’s new year lineup will look like as Davidson may be revamping one of its most cherished accessories.

According to reports, the motorcycle business submitted a patent application for the new design in Europe.

According to Top Speed, the patent demonstrated a new Tour-Pak luggage design for touring bikes such as the Road Glide and Street Glide.

Bike riders can utilize Tour-Paks, which are detachable storage containers with watertight closures, to store necessities for longer journeys.

Riders are ready for a change because, despite being a necessary feature to Harleybikes, the brand hasn’t modified the design in ten years.

These suggested designs would feature a new top box that could separate two storage tiers, per the new patent.

The Tour-Paks are noticeably thicker and hang on the rear of the bike at a steeper angle due to a “hump” on the ends.

Additionally, it features a passenger headrest that lets the second rider unwind rather than cling to the driver.

Additionally, there are two speakers that are visible and capable of blasting music from the backseat.

With a key, it opens from right to left and has a similar overall look to the original.

On the rear of the pack, though, there seems to be a hole that could be utilized for valuables.

Harley-Davidson’s touring bikes have seen a spike in popularity, but it’s unclear what this Tour-Pak design implies for the company’s future.
