Harper Woods mother receives Christmas miracle after facing eviction

Unbelievably fortunate, this single mother of three was facing eviction from her Harper Woods home after falling on hard times.

They were in danger of being evicted, but they are now home for the holidays and beyond because of a kind and significant surprise. Tamika Jimerson will have a blessed and stress-free Christmas.

An unexpected boon for her and her three kids, who had fallen on hard times and were in danger of being evicted from their Harper Woods house.

“When I tried to stop paying the rent and trying to do for the kids, the rent was getting high, so I had to stop for the kids but do the rent, so I couldn’t balance,” Jimerson recalled.

She was aware of the All Star Turkey Giveaway that was taking place in Detroit.

“And I had spent two and a half hours waiting in line down there. It’s too cold, I kept saying. Leaving. “Stay, stay,” the opposing side insisted, Jimerson said. “I got up to the tent.”

She met Tarence Wheeler there and shared her story with him.

“I know exactly what that feels like when you re walking home from school and your stuff is on the curb,” Wheeler said. “I didn t want that to happen to this family.”

Legendary Pistons player Isaiah Thomas and his spouse called Tamika the following day.

“She called, and she told me who she were, and she told me what she was going to do, and she asked me for my landlord s information,” he stated.

After paying her rent, they received a surprise the day before Christmas Eve. Toys, gift cards, and more.

“This is really the epitome of powerless kids needing powerful friends,” he stated. “Any time you ve got somebody who can help you, just one champion, and now we re able to help her stay in her home. We ve got Kroger gift cards on behalf of iHeartMedia for her and some other wraparound services.”

“My children are doing fine. We ve got food,” said Jimerson. “They gave us gift cards. 500 on there, so we re good. As long as my kids are good, I m good. Thank God. Thank God for Tarence Wheeler.”

Now this mom can get back on her feet and her family can have a Merry Christmas.
