Haunting CCTV shows ‘much-loved’ dad just moments before he suddenly disappeared – as daughter makes desperate plea
A “much-loved dad” abruptly vanished ten years ago, as seen in EERIE CCTV footage.
On December 8, 2014, Damion Vernon disappeared from Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
It comes as police yesterday reissued a need for assistance in locating Damion, who left his home in Bridlington and traveled to the city, according to HullLive.
Before driving out of town in a blue Vauxhall Corsa, the missing father is seen in the unsettling video in a TSB Bank on Manor Street in Bridlington at approximately 2:15 p.m.
Damion can be seen standing in line in the video wearing trousers, a green long-sleeved wool pullover, and a mustard-colored gilet.
The father is then seen grinning in the CCTV footage as he walks up to the employee.
Courtney, the 23-year-old daughter of missing Damion, has teamed up with Humberside Police to obtain fresh details regarding her father’s location.
Courtney stated: “I’m pleading with anyone who knows anything to come forward. regardless of how tiny.
“I secretly doubt that I will ever see him again. Nobody can disappear and conceal their physique, so someone must be aware of anything.
But I want to be able to tell my sons the truth about what happened to him and I want to be able to bury him. Dad is worthy of respect.
“Our investigation has remained open over the last ten years as we have continued to explore every possible line of inquiry to help locate Damion,” Inspector Owen Stafford stated.
We are making available CCTV acquired as part of our first investigation, which began in 2014, in the hopes that it may give investigators new avenues of inquiry to find Damion, who is currently 42 years old.

We have contacted hundreds of people since Damion was reported missing, gathered thousands of hours of CCTV footage, searched the River Calder, and tracked the path Damion took the day before he was reported missing.
On Monday, December 8, 2014, we were able to track Damion’s movements in conjunction with the Major Crime Team.
Before departing Bridlington in a blue Vauxhall Corsa with plate number YH51 FLL, Damion stopped by TSB Bank on Manor Street at approximately 2:15 p.m., the last known sighting.
‘Every avenue has drawn a blank’
The previous few years have been a very trying time for Damion’s family, and we have still to learn more about what happened to him, said Detective Superintendent Matt Baldwin of the Humberside Police.
Since Damion’s disappearance, we have conducted extensive searches and lines of inquiry, but we still don’t have a clearer picture of what happened to him.
At the time, the media was crucial to our appeals, but every channel has failed.
Damion’s absence is not suspected to have been caused by criminal activity, and we are keeping an open mind about it. The case will remain open as a long-term missing person investigation.”
According to reports, Damion then drove to Wakefield using the route shown on the map, parked on Sycamore Street, and then proceeded into an alleyway between the residences.
Since then, he has not been spotted. Since that day, neither his cell phone nor his bank card have been used.
