HEARTBREAKING INCIDENT: 6-Year-Old Girl from New Jersey Passes Away After Maine Accident
On Wednesday, a kid from New Jersey passed away with an unintended injury that she sustained while playing outside in Limerick, according to the police.
Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, stated in a release that the incident took place on North Shore Drive at approximately noon on Saturday, June 1.
It was discovered by detectives from the Maine State Police that Lucy Morgan, who was six years old at the time, had been playing outside with her brother, who was ten years old, when the shaft of a badminton racquet became dislodged from its wooden handle. As a result, the shaft struck the girl in the head and pierced through her skull.
First, she was transported to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford, and then she was transported by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Moss stated that she passed away on Wednesday as a result of her injuries as per newscentermaine.com
At the time of the incident, the children and their parents were on vacation in Maine, according to Moss. The children and their parents are from Stockholm, New Jersey.
“The Maine State Police would like to extend their deepest condolences to the Morgan family,” the release said in its entirety.
