Henderson County Crime: Wife Killed, Husband Arrested in Murder-suicide Attempt
Accusations of murder have been brought against a man from East Texas who is suspected of killing his wife and then shooting himself.
At the arraignment, Raymond Wade, 72, was charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of his wife, Rhonda, which occurred in the Larue area of Henderson County, according to the statement made by Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.
At approximately nine o’clock on Saturday morning, deputies arrived at a residence located along US Highway 175 and discovered a woman who had been shot to death and a male who had been shot in the head. Hillhouse stated that his findings were tragic. It was determined that the man’s name was Raymond Wade, and the woman’s name was Rhonda.
After further investigation, it was discovered that he had shot his wife and then shot himself in the head while they were experiencing difficulties in their marriage, according to Hillhouse.
Following the completion of an autopsy on Monday, the sheriff’s office was able to secure a warrant for the arrest of Raymond Wade. The bond for Wade has been set at one million dollars by the Justice of the Peace for Smith County Pct. 2, Andy Dunklin, although he is still being treated in the hospital. Wade has been charged with murder.
During the inquiry, the Texas Rangers and the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office assisted. Deputies are continuing to gather evidence, according to Hillhouse, who stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
