Hield scores 19, helps Warriors bounce back from lopsided losses with 107-104 win over Pistons

Buddy Hield led the Golden State Warriors to a 107-104 victory over the Detroit Pistonson on Thursday night, scoring 19 points.

After losing two consecutive home games—against Miami by 16 points and to Sacramento by 30 points—Golden State finally secured a much-needed win.

Malik Beasley missed a 3-pointer right before the buzzer that would have forced OT, but the Warriors were ahead 18 points.

Cade Cunningham of Detroit finished with 32 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. Despite missing 10 of his 14 3-point attempts, Beasley finished with 21 points.

After winning eight of their last nine games and five in a row, the Pistons dropped to.500.

Steve Kerr, the coach of the Warriors, whose mother, 90, lost her house in the wildfires in California, claimed that his squad lacked “a competitive spirit” earlier this week and expressed satisfaction with the response in Detroit.

Golden State won because they made enough plays on both sides of the court and had a lead at the end of each quarter. The Warriors have lost 15 of their last 21 games after a 12-3 start.
