Home Depot shopper fumes ‘we’ve been getting scammed’ after spotting Black Friday price mixup
A disgruntled client has criticized HOME Depot for their unsatisfactory Black Friday offers.
They asserted that the retailer had promoted sales on some items that were never marked down from their original cost.
In a recent TikTok video, influencer Sissi (@sissili_ca) displayed a side-by-side comparison of prices in Home Depot’s Black Friday catalog and on its website after the client explained that they were searching for a deal on various tool sets for their job.
The Milwaukee toolset they were seeking for was listed in the hardcopy catalog for $349, which was less than the $399 price tag.
However, the same set of equipment was offered for $399 on Home Depot’s website when the client located it via their phone.
It was still listed in the “Black Friday Deal” section even after the normal price had returned.

The customer felt that Home Depot was attempting to persuade them of a deal that was no longer available as a result of the confusion.
In the video, they screamed, “We’ve been getting scammed!”
“I don’t know why people go to the stores on Black Friday to pay more.”
Through more toolkit listings with pricing disparities, they persisted in elaborating on their argument.
WHAT’S GOING ON?
Another Milwaukee tool set was priced at $399 in the Fourth of July Home Depot catalog.
Although it was listed in the web Black Friday Deal section as well, the customer displayed a $479 listing on their phone.
They read off and displayed the corresponding product descriptions to confirm that the toolkits were identical.
Home Depot has been contacted by The U.S. Sun to provide additional details regarding the pricing confusion.
However, the shopper’s assertions are not unique.
In an Xthread that featured the video, another person wrote, “Went to Home Depot on Black Friday for a toolbox and their in-store ‘deal’ was $259 more than online and they wouldn’t honor the online price.”
Home Depot Items You Can’t Return
The majority of Home Depot products can be returned for a refund within ninety days of purchase. However, there are a few exceptions:
- Major appliances
- Custom products (paint, blinds, etc.)
- Special order products
- Generators
- Delivery, labor, and installation services
- Product samples

Deals expert Tom (@sidemoneytom) also criticized Home Depot for its price in a TikTok video that went viral and received over 500,000 views.
“Black Friday here at Home Depot seems like a total scam,” remarked Tom.
He was observed removing a sign for a $24.97 high-pressure inflator that had allegedly been cut from $39.97.
The normal-day price of $24.97 for the high-pressure inflator was listed beneath the Black Friday placard.
Was there a discount, then?
Tom then carried out the same action for a number other products.
One of the most popular comments on his post came from a Home Depot worker.
“I work in Homedepot, and I can confirm that’s all true.”

This holiday season, Home Depot is also offering an 8-foot Santa display for $299.
Additionally, customers should be ready for the company to shortly change its hours at all 2,300 sites for a full day.
