Homeowners furious over fan-favorite burger restaurant opening in their neighborhood – they have a plan to fight back
As concerns about traffic and the environment rise, irate homeowners have called on the city to halt the development of a popular burger joint.
The news that an In-N-Out Burger is being built in their neighborhood would make most Californians very happy, but a group of angry homeowners is attempting to stop the project.
In Woodland Hills, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, the beloved fast-food business intended to demolish an old bank building and replace it with a restaurant and drive-thru.
But because of its proximity to housing, the West Valley Alliance for Optimal Living is worried about the location.
The group asked a judge in Los Angeles to stop the city from approving the project until the possible impacts of the restaurant on noise, traffic, and water quality are investigated.
November 25 was the day the petition was submitted.

On October 1, the Planning and Land Use Management Committee presented their proposals for the project to the City Council.
According to MyNewsLA.com, officials determined that the work was exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act’s criteria.
The homeowners organization is retaliating, claiming that the project is not eligible for an exemption.
In order to educate the public and government authorities on the possible environmental effects of planned projects, then-Governor Ronald Reagan passed CEQA in 1970.
The purpose of the act was to shield the environment from serious harm.
According to the petition, there is insufficient proof in the record that the project would not have a major impact on traffic.
Studies from In-N-Out restaurants in different parts of Los Angeles were included in the petition.
The company predicted that more traffic would be generated by the Woodland Hills eatery than the developers had anticipated.
The homeowners’ petition has not yet received a response from the City of Los Angeles.
The U.S. Sun has not received a response from city planners.
Other Woodland Hills locals are expressing their excitement for a new eatery in town, while petitioners are pleading with the judge to halt the development.
“That’s the ideal spot.” “I hope they do it,” someone wrote in a YouTube comment.
“That side of Woodland hills is always dead and the business there barely get any foot traffic,” another thought.
“This would take the pressure off the other in and out on Ventura.”
“That s cool that they are going to build an in n out in Woodland Hills and they should do it why not,” a third person commented.
