Horrific Subway Attack: 11-year-old’s Head Sliced by Man Allegedly Wielding Box Cutter in NYC
A maniac, allegedly armed with a box cutter, is suspected of slicing an 11-year-old girl’s head during a violent binge at a New York City subway station.
On Friday afternoon, the NYPD arrested Shaquan Cummings, 30, and charged him with assault, endangering a child’s welfare, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. According to an NYPD spokesperson, Cummings allegedly struck another 43-year-old lady before hitting the girl.
According to the New York Post, the event occurred around 2:18 p.m. on Friday, just outside the 116th Street 6 subway station. A man using a “box cutter” sliced the girl in the back of the head and slit her ear as she walked along the street holding her mother’s hand, according to the report. The girl’s mother, Gorzata Sladek, told the Post that the attack was “traumatizing.”
“Terrible. “It’s terrible to see a little girl with her head sliced in half,” she remarked.
According to the NYPD, the young victim was rushed to NYC Health and Hospital in Harlem in stable condition. Sladek told the Post that her daughter had surgery and needed many stitches to seal up the cut.
“She isn’t doing well emotionally. She doesn’t want to return to school. “She doesn’t want to go outside anymore,” Sladek explained. Shortly after the assault, video shows the 11-year-old victim being carried onto a stretcher and transported to an EMS truck. Her clothing is splattered with blood as she is hoisted into the ambulance.

According to the NYPD, the suspect, later identified as Cummings, left following the assault. He was detained approximately a block away from where he reportedly hit the elder woman in the face before assaulting the girl.
Police stated the 43-year-old victim declined medical treatment.
A video posted to social media shows cops surrounding the culprit as an angry gathering of witnesses approaches to confront him. The guy is seen hiding behind police officers while one man appears to poke him with a cane.
“Back up!” an officer cries to the mob. Someone may be heard shouting expletives at the suspect. “Don’t let him go!” another man exclaims as officers struggle to prevent the crowd from administering vigilante justice. The cops then arrested and charged Cummings, who has a significant criminal record with over 20 prior arrests, according to the New York Post.

According to NYPD sources, Cummings was most recently arrested two months ago and given a desk appearance on an assault allegation. Sladek told the publication that she wants justice for her daughter.
“You should be able to walk on the street and not worry that somebody will attack you and attack, actually, my daughter not even attacking a dog, but a little kid,” she stated.
