Horror avalanche kills three skiers after dragging them several hundred metres down 9,000ft mountain
A terrifying avalanche tore through a 9,300-foot mountain in Italy, killing three skiers.
Rescuers said that the victims suffered fatal injuries after being carried downward for several hundred meters.
Around noon, the catastrophe occurred in the northern Piedmont region, which is located on the Italian border with Switzerland.
The scary avalanche on the eastern face of Punta Valgrande ensnared five skiers.
Two more made it out alive and were flown to the hospital.
As the avalanche crashed down the mountain, shocked bystanders reported seeing it.

Several persons were reportedly swept off the slope.
In the Piedmont region, an alert has been issued for elevations greater than 6,900 feet.
It issued a serious avalanche warning.
