Houston Teenager Charged With Armed Robbery and Shooting of 61-Year-Old Victim
DEBARYLIFE – Authorities in Houston have filed charges against a teenager related to a shooting incident that occurred in March and injured a 61-year-old man during a purported robbery.
In a press statement, it was revealed that the man was shot at 8900 Interchange Drive on March 13 by a 16-year-old male whose identity is protected since he is still considered a minor.
The defendant was taken into custody on April 16 and is accused of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, according to Harris County Juvenile Probation officials.
Upon returning to his parked car, the victim discovered it had been broken into. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
At approximately 11:05 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery and discovered that the victim had been shot.

The victim of a robbery at the aforementioned residence was found to have gunshot wounds by HPD patrol officers who responded to the call.” Detective K. Edie of HPD’s Robbery Division stated in the press release, “He was taken by paramedics to the hospital for treatment.”
Once the victim approached a black male who was later identified as the juvenile and asked to use his phone, there was an initial altercation that broke out when the male approached and demanded his stuff.
The report stated that after the victim attempted to protect himself, the young suspect shot him multiple times before making off on foot.
