Husband Arrested for Threatening Wife Over Divorce Papers
In a disturbing incident in Summerfield, 60-year-old Vincent Vaicekauskas was arrested after allegedly threatening his wife during breakfast. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Vaicekauskas made threatening statements to his wife, including, “You need to be concerned that I will kill you.” The confrontation occurred on Sunday morning at the couple’s home.
The arrest report indicates that Vaicekauskas had been drinking prior to the incident. His wife was preparing breakfast when tensions escalated. A friend who was visiting noticed a vodka bottle near Vaicekauskas and inquired about his well-being. Vaicekauskas reportedly expressed a desire to “break his wife’s neck” in response.
The wife revealed to deputies that she had been on the brink of serving her husband with divorce papers, which contributed to her anxiety about his reaction. The couple has been living in separate bedrooms, further highlighting the strain in their relationship.
Following the threatening incident, Vaicekauskas was initially Baker Acted—a legal procedure in Florida used to involuntarily commit individuals who are deemed a threat to themselves or others. He was taken to Advent Health for evaluation. After being released, Vaicekauskas was booked at the Marion County Jail on a charge of simple assault. His bond was set at $1,000.
