Harpos, which has long been one of Detroit’s most well-liked concert venues, has seen a lot of bands perform. Ruzvelt Stevanovski, the venue’s proprietor, claims he was unaware that Saturday night’s performance included bands with a neo-Nazi bent.

The owner informed Charlie Langton of FOX 2 that if the band had known in advance, they would never have been allowed to perform. Regretfully, Stevanovski admitted that he did not thoroughly research the band he was booking.

After receiving threats on Saturday, police and the fire marshal investigated Harpos.

“They asked me where are your permits and listen man I just found out they are Nazis,” stated the owner. “I have to end the performance. First, let me shut it down. They are searching around and granting this and that in the meanwhile.

Two of the seven bands performed before the concert was halted. About 250 concertgoers were forced to leave in the interim, but 24 safety infractions were reported that evening.

According to the owner, he has already obtained a permit and plans to clean everything up.

“The Harpos Concert Theatre hosted an event on Saturday, January 25th, that requires public attention. We planned to respond to the community’s rightly merited demands for answers. I want to begin by expressing my sincere regret to the community on behalf of Harpos Concert Theatre, Ruzvelt Stevanovski, and myself (Krystle Dzajkovska). We sincerely apologize and are holding ourselves and others involved accountable, even though the actions of January 25th do not align with our values or those of our community. At Harpos, we have a strong commitment to promoting an atmosphere that values equality, respect, and inclusivity for all. We want to make it clear that racism has no place in our society or business, and we oppose racism in all its manifestations.”
