I thrifted $2.50 one-size-fits all designer top at Goodwill that was on my ‘bucket list’ – it sells for $350 on Poshmark
AN avid shopper hit the thrifting jackpot when she came across a designer top for just $2.50 at Goodwill.
The one-size-fits-all kimono was on her thrifting bucket list and for good reason – it sells for hundreds on resale sites like Poshmark.
Thrift stores are the ideal place to shop for those seeking the best deals.
Second-hand shops sell used clothing and goods at a significant discount and are often home to unexpected gems.
One thrifter (@amanda.commonthreads) scored her dream find while walking the aisles of Goodwill.
She shared the details of her purchase in a TikTok video from August.

Amanda explained how she was shocked to find an item on her bucket list at Goodwill.
“You guys are not gonna believe what I found,” she said. “If you saw my thrifting bucket list, this is at the top of my list of brands to thrift.”
“I almost cannot believe this is real.”
She had stumbled upon a Magnolia Pearl Clodia kimono, expecting the designer item to resell for hundreds of dollars.
It was priced at $5 and marked down 50%, costing Amanda just $2.50.
She did, however, have to wait in line for an hour to scoop the kimono because the 50% off sale was storewide and drew in big crowds.
PRICING STRATEGY
The savvy shopper shared her method for determining how much to resell the designer top.
Amanda checked Poshmark to see how much the kimono had sold there and found that several had sold for between $200 and $315.
The shopper also searched on eBay and saw that the kimono had sold for up to $375.
Additionally, Amanda checked the prices of the currently available Magnolia Pearl Clodia kimonos, finding one on Poshmark for $350 and one on eBay for $450.
The reseller explained that she was in direct competition with both listings because the kimono was one-size-fits-all and they were all preowned.
