Iconic 60-year-old stadium which has hosted huge WWE pay-per-views unrecognizable after roof collapses in heavy snowfall
Heavy snowfall caused the roof of an iconic stadium to collapse, leaving it almost unrecognizable.
Over the years, the 60-year-old facility has gained notoriety for holding pay-per-view WWE events.
The bad weather has left the Mobile Civic Center in south Alabama without a roof.
Tuesday’s 7.5 inches of snow in Mobile set all local snow records since 1895.
As the rook has fallen into the arena, photos show the stadium looking completely different.
Since the stadium was already being demolished, the fall has fortunately caused little disturbance.

The fact that none of the mosaic tile murals were harmed in the collapse is another plus for the city authorities.
That the roof “fell in the way they wanted it to” has been verified by a city official.
The Mobile Civic Center’s roof fell earlier this morning due to too much snow, according to a statement.
“The fall happened in a way that aligned with the plans for the continuing deconstruction of the building.
“Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the mosaic murals were undamaged.”
The arena closed in August 2024 and is being demolished to create room for a new, contemporary stadium.
Rebuilding the structure and turning it into a $300 million entertainment arena is the proposal.
By 2027, the construction is anticipated to be finished.
Retail areas, opulent suites, a VIP club, first-rate seats, and dynamic acoustics are some of the new elements that will be included.
There will reportedly be options for variable seating and configuration.
As a result, both small and major events may accommodate up to 10,000 supporters and onlookers.
It will be constructed to showcase professional hockey and ice skating performances in addition to hosting concerts and live acts.
