Identity of man killed after fighting with deputy in Monroe County released

Fox 2: EXETER TWP, MICHA brawl broke out in Exeter Township on Saturday morning, leaving a suspect dead and an officer wounded.
On Saturday morning, officers were dispatched to investigate a “suspicious” individual in Exeter Township’s 6300 block of Bluebush Road and London Township. The Exeter Township call was received at 11:30 a.m., while the London Township contact was received shortly before 11 a.m.
When a Monroe County Deputy Sheriff arrived, the suspect “immediately engaged and began physically assaulting,” according to Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough. The guy was killed when the deputy fired his weapon during the altercation.
Brian Donald Miller, 47, of Willis, Michigan, is the suspect. He had an outstanding arrest warrant in Washtenaw County for nonattendance at the time of the altercation. The court case involved a resisting law enforcement charge and larceny.
Due to non-life-threatening injuries, the officer was sent to a nearby hospital.
Members of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office were contacted right after to perform an impartial examination of the occurrence and are now investigating it.
