IHOP Horror: Woman Arrested After Attempting to FLUSH DECEASED NEWBORN DOWN TOILET
A 34-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly giving birth inside a restroom and attempting to flush her deceased child down the toilet.
Shaniqua Caldwell was booked into the Warren County Jail on May 30 for hiding the birth of an infant. She was initially placed under an intervention hold.
According to the Bowling Green Daily News, on Wednesday, May 29, at around 8 p.m., someone at the IHOP on Scottsville Road called the Bowling Green Police Department to report that a woman was bleeding and appeared to have had a miscarriage. One witness claimed there was a child in the toilet, and another claimed they witnessed Caldwell try to flush the infant.

Officers discovered Caldwell in the restaurant’s parking area after receiving a description from witnesses. She apparently stated that she did not give birth because she had never been pregnant. Medics at the site attempted to evaluate her, but she refused treatment. According to the Bowling Green Daily News, Caldwell informed authorities that she had not had sex in six years and was related to Denzel Washington and Michael Jordan.

A detective stated in the arrest citation that they were “concerned for her welfare when she refused any medical treatment after most likely just giving birth to a child.”
She reportedly stated that she was in Kentucky for business, but did not clarify. According to jail records, her address is in Georgia.
According to WBKO-TV, the child’s autopsy is still to be finished, and Caldwell may face additional charges.
