Ikea confirms all 73 locations will close down for an entire day – and Home Depot or Lowe’s won’t be any help

IKEA has announced it will shut its doors for 24 hours in the coming weeks.

The global home furnishing retailer has confirmed that all stores, locations, warehouses, deliveries, and customer services will be closed on Thanksgiving.

This means customers hoping to get any last-minute deals will have to wait.

Ikea’s statement about holiday operations is on a webpage titled “Is IKEA open on holidays?”

Shoppers should also note that the chain will be closed on Christmas.

IKEA joins several other retailers who decided to shut down operations on Thanksgiving.

WHAT IS IKEA?

Ikea is a home furnishing store that started in rural Sweden back in the 1940s.

The retailer has since grown into a global chain that sells affordable, ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances, home accessories, and more.

“We bring the IKEA brand to millions of homes, offering well-designed, functional, durable, affordable, and sustainable home furnishing solutions to people with big dreams and thin wallets,” the company website reveals.

Ikea is able to keep its products affordable by producing many of its items in bulk.

LOYALTY SHAKE-UP

According to the Ikea website, the company has 476 stores in 63 markets.
