Investigation underway after pedestrian found dead in Mt. Clemens road

FOX 2: Mount Clements, MichiganThe death of a pedestrian in Mount Clemens on Friday morning is being looked into by sheriff’s officers.

We know:

Just after 4 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Gratiot Avenue and New Street in response to a report of someone in the road. An off-duty Clinton Township police officer was helping the unnamed man when they got there.

The person was declared dead at the spot in spite of life-saving procedures.

What is unknown to us:

What happened to the pedestrian remains unclear.

Due to the investigation, southbound Gratiot Avenue is closed at Market Street as of 8:30 a.m.
