iPhone owners warned they could be throwing away money after major Apple change – check your device now

Following Apple’s regulatory changes, iPhone customers may be squandering money on iCloud services they are no longer receiving.

The iPhone manufacturer has changed iCloud’s system requirements, requiring that devices run a specific version of iOS in order to access important functions.

iPhones are powered by the iOS operating system.

Apple said earlier this week that after December 18, iPhones running iOS 8 or lower would no longer be able to access iCloud backups.

Up until that point, devices running any software version lower than iOS 8 will be able to retrieve their stored data and backup their iPhones to iCloud.

You won’t be able to create new backups after that date, and any that already exist will be erased.

Apple claims that iPhones running iOS 10 on an iPhone 5 or later are required to use iCloud at all.

Users of iPhones must also have iOS 15 or later installed in order to access iCloud+, a service that can cost up to $59.99/$54.99 per month.

Apple’s premium cloud subscription is called iCloud+.

Along with features like iCloud Private Relay, Hide My Email, Custom Email Domain, and HomeKit Secure Video compatibility, the service offers storage options in different sizes.

You will be paying for a service that you cannot use if your iPhone is not running iOS 15 or cannot because it is too old.
