Israel blows up 20 targets in most intense 120-second hell blitz of war in final strike hours before Hezbollah ceasefire

Minutes before approving a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, Israel destroyed 20 Hezbollah terror targets in two minutes.

In a last display of force before the battle stopped, eight fighter jets were sent in to begin a fierce barrage of airstrikes against Hezbollah strongholds.

According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), they attacked seven structures, including a quasi-bank, that the Iran-backed terrorist organization uses to handle its finances.

They also struck an intelligence base, a weapons warehouse, a Hezbollah air force center, and other military-style facilities.

The army published footage of a map illuminated by ground explosions close to the southern suburbs of Beirut.

In a brief 120 seconds, the IDF used eight fighter jets to carry out attacks on 20 terrorist targets in Beirut, including seven facilities related to Hezbollah money management and storage, according to an IDF statement.

“Among them, headquarters, money warehouses and branches of Al-Karch Al-Hassan Association which are used by Hezbollah for collection and storage.”

After a year of tit-for-tat attacks across their common border, Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a ceasefire.

In order to eradicate the extremist group, Israel launched a series of devastating airstrikes and invaded Lebanon in September.

The Lebanese health ministry stated that since October 2023, Israeli strikes on the country had resulted in at least 3,823 deaths and 15,000 injuries.

Approximately 1.2 million people were displaced by the fighting, according to officials.

Hezbollah strikes in Israel have killed at least 75 people. The strikes came from Lebanon.

At 2 a.m. GMT on Wednesday, the battle officially ended, and throngs of people poured south to go back to their homes.

Israel advised residents to wait for the IDF to evacuate before returning to places like Beirut, where the majority of the fighting has taken place.

Hezbollah has agreed to withdraw its forces from any area below the Litani River, which is only 20 miles from Israel, in exchange for the deployment of some 5,000 Lebanese soldiers to the south.

Some estimates state that after the first few hours of the ceasefire, Lebanese soldiers will rise to 10,000.

Additionally, UN peacekeepers have been sent to southern Lebanon.

On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the agreement, saying Israel had damaged Hezbollah.

He said that IDF operations had killed 2,000 fighters from the Iran-backed organization.

He stated: “On October 8, Hezbollah decided to launch an attack against us from that location. A year has gone by, and Hezbollah has changed.

“We killed all of the organization’s top officials, destroyed the majority of its rockets and missiles, killed thousands of terrorists, and demolished the terrorist and underground infrastructure that was constructed close to our border over many years.

“We launched attacks on key targets across Lebanon… Lebanon is not the same. Although it seems like science fiction, none of this is.

Additionally, he promised to relaunch the strikes on Lebanon in the event that Hezbollah attempts another attack or even constructs a tunnel.

“If Hezbollah tries to attack us, if it arms itself and rebuilds infrastructure near the border, we will attack,” he stated.

“If it launches a rocket, if it digs a tunnel, if it brings in a truck carrying rockets, we will attack.”

Hamas, which carried out last year’s October 7 terror strike on Israel, was not involved in the agreement.

However, after the significant breakthrough, the terror group based in Gaza is apparently prepared to sign its own ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Mediators are prepared to mediate a “serious” agreement and prisoner exchange, a senior Hamas official told AFP.

“We have informed mediators in Egypt, Qatar and Turkey that Hamas is ready for a ceasefire agreement and a serious deal to exchange prisoners,” they stated.
