Jaguar’s new pink EV slammed as ‘just a woke Tesla’ as it’s unveiled days after car giant’s controversial rebrand

The new pink EV from Jaguar was criticized for being “just a woke Tesla” after the automaker’s contentious rebranding.

Online leaks have surfaced pictures of the new electric vehicle, which will be formally unveiled tonight during Miami Art Week.

With a conspicuous, wide grille and a stretched-out bonnet, they appear to be a contemporary version of Barbie’s ideal vehicle.

Some X users expressed skepticism about the daring action, which marks the debut of the brand’s new generation of electric automobiles, in response to the images.

A few commented: “Jaguarseems to be positioning itself as: ‘Tesla, but for liberals who hateElon Musk.'”

A new anti-Tesla audience could be effectively cornered by the decision, the critic added.

The brand’s new line of electric vehicles, the first of which is scheduled to hit the market in 2026, will incorporate design elements from the concept car.

In place of a rear windscreen, it features rear-view cameras, elegant LED lighting strips, and wrap-around windows that progressively thinner toward the back of the vehicle.

The leaked images also show that a blue version is available.

“Miami Pink celebrates the vibrancy of the city while LondonBlue, a modern take on the Opalescent Silver Blue of the E-Type, is a nod to Jaguar’s British heritage,” a Jaguar representative told the Telegraph, acknowledging that the company was “aware” of the photos.

Following Jaguar’s contentious redesign, the announcement garnered special attention and led to claims that the firm had deserted its fan base.

With phrases like “live vivid,” “delete ordinary,” and “copy nothing,” the brand’s 30-second commercial offended traditionalists.

“If I wasn’t sure before, I’m convinced Jaguar have completely lost the plot,” one Facebook user commented on the video. Nothing will be gained by this waking crap.

“Please tell me this is fake,” someone else wrote. Jaguar has indeed pressed the button for self-destruction.

A third individual commented: “As someone who worked for this iconic brand up until production cessation in June it really does sadden me to see the direction the company has decided to take.”

Additionally, it aggressively replaced its recognizable huge cat emblem with new gold text.

According to a spokeswoman, the lettering is “seamlessly blended upper and lower case characters in visual harmony” and is written as JaGUar, with the exception of G and U.

One X user contrasted Volvo’s straightforward strategy with Jaguar’s rebranding, which they labeled “woke posturing.”

“Jaguar is woke,” they wrote. Tesla is incredible. Volvo is secure.

“It’s way harder and far more impressive to make a brand statement this powerful without stoking the culture wars.”

Musk calls out Jaguar

Even Tesla’s millionaire CEO, Elon Musk, criticized Jaguar following its alleged woke rebranding.

He replied to Jag’s post on the social media site X by asking, “Do you sell cars?”

In response, Jaguar said: “Yes. We’d be delighted to show you. Come have a cup with us in Miami on December 2nd. Best wishes, Jaguar.
