Ja’Marr Chase facing NFL punishment decision over ‘disgusting’ act during Bengals loss against Chargers
CINCINNATI Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase could be handed a fine due to a touchdown celebration during the road loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
The sequence occurred during the third quarter of the Sunday NightFootballgame in Week 11.
The three-time Pro Bowler Chase scored a touchdown for the 11th time.
TheBengalsstar caught a four-yard pass over the middle and broke out a surprise touchdown celebration.
Chase was close to the TV cameras and got down on one knee, pulled out a towel from his pants, and proceeded to wipe the ball as if it were a baby.
The 24-year-old could get hit with a fine over the NSFW gesture.

A similar gesture warranted a fine as formerNFLplayer Isaiah Crowell was fined $13,369 for unsportsmanlike conduct for pretending to wipe himself with the football before throwing it to opposing fans in the stands.
NFL fans took issue with Chase’s touchdown celebration onsocial media.
“There is children watching Ja’Marr,” one wrote.
“Probably the least favorite celebration I’ve ever seen,” another commented.
“Disgusting celebration,” a third said.
“Fine incoming,” a fourth added.
Chase’s touchdown celebration was similar to that of NFL legendSteve SmithSr., who wiped a ball down during a 2005 game.
He then burped the ball and put it down for a nap.
Later in the Week 11 game, Chase scored another touchdown to tie the game at 27 in the fourth quarter.
The 17-yard touchdown pass fromJoe Burrowbrought his season count to 12.
Unfortunately for Chase and the Bengals, theLos Angeles Chargerswon the game 34-27.
He caught seven receptions for 75 yards.
Head coach Zac Taylor’s play-calling has been scrutinized this season, as six of the Bengals’ seven losses have been in one-score games.
Chase was asked questions regarding Taylor’s playcalling.
“I don’t know,” Chase said to reporters after the game. “Ask Zac, ask the coaches. Don’t ask me. That’s not my job.”
