Jeopardy!’s Ken Jennings blurts out slang for body part & fans are in disbelief show ‘finally progressed’ clue language

Instead of using the show’s more conservative vocabulary, JEOPARDY! presenter Ken Jennings stunned viewers by using an offensive expression for a private body part.

After 60 years on the air, viewers noticed the word being used right away and joked that the show was finally moving forward with the lingo used in clues.

When returning champion Dave Bond played in Friday’s game, he was hoping to increase his $25,000 one-day earnings.

Erin Adams, a historian and educator from Springfield, Tennessee, and Zach DeBoer, a doctoral student from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, faced up against the retired grant writer from West Henrietta, New York.

Early on in the game, Dave played aggressively, and his gamble paid off when he staked everything on a real Daily Double.

Host Ken, 50, read the clue under the Scientific Discoveries category: These brain proteins that reduce pain were discovered in the 1970s and were given the term “morphine” because of their resemblance.

JOST NOT READY?

‘Nervous’ Colin Jost stumbled over words while taping Pop Culture Jeopardy!

Describe endorphins. Dave’s score doubled to $8,000 after he answered correctly.

Dave led with $8,400 going into the DoubleJeopardy! round, followed by Zach in second place with $6,000 and Erin with $4,800.

Ken then presented the second set of categories, which included 2024 DNC State Roll Call Songs, “A” FOR ART, IN THE KITCHEN, GENDERED LANGUAGE, LITERARY LANDMARKS, and LAKES.

During this round, many were taken aback by the language Ken and the show used for one of the clues.

When Ken read the clue out loud, Dave selected category A for Art for $800.

A titan’s three-word title in the Prado: The host read, his voice rising in intensity at the end of the line, “She’s reaching for the forbidden fruit, he’s reaching for her boob.”

Zach buzzed in correctly with Adam and Eve: what are they?

Many viewers were taken aback when the word “boob” was used because the show had previously used the more formal word “breast.”

“I discovered today that you can say boob on Jeopardy!” remarked one admirer.

Another concurred, adding: I didn’t even hear the hint since I was so preoccupied with Ken screaming “boob!”

After roughly half a century, Jeopardy! has finally caught up to the terminology of the 1970s Match Game by use the word “boob” in a clue that refers to a female breast, a third person joked.

Another wrote, “Ken, the word boob was not on my 2024 bingo card.”

Another said: I’m not offended at all, of course, but I’m shocked that they use something so casual like boob instead of breast or chest. Does anyone else think this?

Dave held onto his lead of $16,400 going into Final Jeopardy!.
