Jerry Jones issues shock Mike McCarthy future update and makes major decision over firing head coach
Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, made headlines when he revealed the future of head coach Mike McCarthy.
McCarthy is in the last year of his contract, and the Cowboys have a dismal 4-7 record.
After dropping their last five games, Dallas defeated the Washington Commanders 34–26.
After three consecutive seasons of mediocre postseason play, McCarthy appeared to be on the hot seat going into the season.
The NFLworld thought McCarthy wouldn’t be kept after the season because of the Cowboys’ dismal 3-7 start, which included a 0-5 home record.
However, Jerry Jones expressed satisfaction with the win over the division’s rival Commanders and did not rule out McCarthy’s contract being extended.

During his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Face on Tuesday, Jones stated, “I don’t think that’s crazy at all,” in reference to a possible contract extension for McCarthy.
“This coach has won a Super Bowl.
“Mike McCarthy has done that and been there.” His ideas are brilliant.
“We got a lot offootballleft.”
McCarthy and the Green Packers won a Super Bowl in 2010.
He had a 1-3 postseason record in his five seasons with the Cowboys, though.
Jones went on, “This thing isn’t over,”
The Cowboys are, to put it mildly, hurt because quarterback Dak Prescott had hamstring surgery earlier this month and will miss the remainder of the season.
He pointed out that the Cowboys had offensive linemen Zack Martin, Tyler Smith, and tight end returning from injuries, as well as wideout Brandin Cooks, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, and others coming off injured reserve.
Fortunately for Dallas, in the next four weeks, they will be playing four teams that are currently below.500.
After the 7-5 Commanders and the 9-2 Philadelphia Eagles, they are in third position in the NFC Easter.
According to Jones, the Cowboys’ last six football games will play a “lifetime” role in deciding what his club will do during the summer.
Dallas will get ready to play the New York Giants on Thanksgiving in the interim.
The Cowboys also won’t be able to tank in order to have a better 2025 first-round pick.
“I simply believe that the game is too significant. “The victory is too crucial,” Jones remarked.
“You see a coach sitting there, and don’t assume that they don’t add up their career wins and loses. If they can just ask for it, they prefer not to have a loss on their record.

“My point is that, regardless of the situation, winning is incredibly fulfilling for everyone and aids in growth.
“And so there’s a lot of ambiguity with those draft picks.”
