Jerry Jones makes major Dallas Cowboys quarterback decision over Dak Prescott, Trey Lance and Cooper Rush

Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has made a significant choice about the quarterback position.

Cooper Rush, who started in place of Dak Prescott in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, passed for less than 200 yards for the second consecutive game.

While Prescott is dealing with a hamstring ailment, Jones thinks Rush is still their best quarterback starter above backup Trey Lance.

“I thought we did some good things out there,” he stated, as reported by The Athletic.

“I continue to think that Cooper Rush gives us the best chance. We care about victories. This team is young.

With three games left in the regular season following the match against the Carolina Panthers, Lance will continue to be the backup heading into Week 15.

The Cowboys recently lost to the Bengals 20–27.

However, standout linebacker DeMarvion Overshown’s knee injury was the match’s main narrative.

Additionally, Jones stated that Overshown’s season is gone since he will be having knee surgery.

Jones stated: “At this moment, I am unsure of the exact timing of his rehabilitation.

But since he recently underwent both physical and mental rehabilitation for his second knee, I simply cannot express how sorry I am for him.

For a player, it’s the most difficult period. We can all see the loss and understand how it will affect us in the four games we have left.

“Bottom line is it’s really sad that he’s having to have this surgery for him as an individual and obviously us as a team.”

With 13 minutes remaining in the game, Chase Brown ran two yards and hit Overshown in the side of his right leg.

Unable to move his leg, he remained on the field until the medical staff arrived to treat him and perform additional testing.

“I think the entire sideline felt that because it didn’t look good,” stated coach Mike McCarthy. Many of the guys were undoubtedly affected by it.
