Jessica Simpson quietly lists Hidden Hills mansion for $17m just days before announcing split from husband Eric Johnson

The U.S. Sun can exclusively disclose that JESSICA Simpson listed her Los Angeles property for sale a few days prior to officially announcing her divorce from husband Eric Johnson.

In recent months, the singer and her estranged spouse were spotted together sans wedding bands, and there were rumors that they were divorcing.

Jessica, 44, told PEOPLE on Monday that she and Eric had been living apart while dealing with a difficult marital circumstance.

“We are concentrating on what is best for our children, who come first. We value privacy at this time as we work through this as a family and are thankful for all of the love and support that has been shown to us.”

The couple married in July 2014 and has three kids: Ace, age 11, Birdie, age 5, and Maxwell, age 12.

In 2013, Jessica paid $11.5 million to her “Dixie Trail Trust” to purchase her opulent property from Ozzie and Sharon Osbourne.

Jessica Simpson’s divorce from Eric Johnson could turn into a ‘dumpster fire’

As they started spending more time in Nashville, Jessica first listed the house for $22 million in September 2023.

The home was later removed from the market in August 2024, although it seemed the family was moving to Tennessee full-time.

Days after Jessica and her family left the house due to the flames in Los Angeles, the house was advertised once more on January 11.

On the evening of Thursday, January 9, she posted a picture of her backyard on Instagram, showing smoke moving toward the house.

FAMILY EVACUATED

Although her property is not believed to have been impacted, the house was near the Kenneth fire, which started in Woodland Hills but has since been contained.

However, as Jessica posted on social media, “We stayed as long as we could,” many locals were asked to leave.

The house has seven bedrooms and thirteen bathrooms, according to a recent listing on the internet.

The opulent residence, which was previously highlighted in Architectural Digest, is located in the guard-gated Hidden Hills, which is populated by celebrities.

Situated on approximately 2.25 acres, it offers views of the city and mountains that sparkle.

The 13,274-square-foot home features a striking lobby with enormous windows and a spiral staircase, which is frequently featured in Jessica’s Christmas social media posts.

It also has a larger home theater on the bottom level, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a formal dining room.

Jessica and Eric’s relationship timeline

Despite reportedly leading different lives, the couple has not filed for divorce.

After completing her divorce from Nick Lachey in 2006, Jessica Simpson dated Tony Romo and John Mayer.

After that, she started dating former football player Eric Johnson, and the two went public in 2010. A few months later, in November, he proposed.

Maxwell, their firstborn, was born in 2012, followed by Ace in 2013, and they were married in 2014.

Birdie, the couple’s third child, was born in 2019.

She used to say that they “rarely fight” and gushed about the star.

However, since the celebrity was spotted without her wedding band, there have been whispers of a split for a number of months.

Eric hasn’t been featured in any romantic social media posts, and she neglected to mention him on their tenth wedding anniversary.

She last shared pictures with her spouse while she was with her kids over Easter break, but they weren’t posing together.

Additionally, Jessica’s home features a breakfast nook, a walk-in pantry, and a chef’s kitchen that is up to date.

“The family room is a true sanctuary, with oversized sliding barn doors, a fireplace adorned with reclaimed brick, and beamed vaulted ceilings that create an inviting and relaxing ambiance,” the description continues.

A revitalizing spa, a BBQ island, a pool with a separate shallow pool, rolling lawns, and an outdoor shower and restroom are all features of the grounds.

According to records previously acquired by the U.S. Sun, Jessica and Eric took out four mortgages on the house.

Two years after they bought it for $7,336,000, they took out a second loan with JPMorgan Chase Bank in 2017 for $8,000,000.

Platinum Loan Servicing Inc. took out a third mortgage for $3,650,000, while Bank of Southern California had a fourth mortgage indicated in records for $3,045,000.

Documents show that they have never defaulted, though it is unclear if they have paid off the loans in full throughout the years.
