Jim Harbaugh’s Nfl Return Sparks Draft Buzz for Michigan Players

Jim Harbaugh, who returned to the ranks of the National Football League as a champion, is the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, and the team is beginning a new era. During the 2023 season, his Michigan Wolverines finished with a perfect 15-0 record and defeated the Washington Huskies in the National Championship game of the College Football Playoff for the first time.

When Harbaugh was in Michigan, he assembled a formidable group, and he will have to do the same thing when he is in Los Angeles. As part of this, a couple of his former players may be selected in the NFL Draft with him. During an appearance on the “NFL on FOX Podcast,” Roman Wilson, a former wide receiver for the Michigan Wolverines, disclosed that he anticipates Harbaugh will choose a significant number of Michigan prospects.

Wilson is quoted as saying, “I wouldn’t be surprised if like all nine of us end up going [to the Chargers],” about the nine draft picks that the team has. This information comes from Fox Sports. On the other hand, in all seriousness, at least five or six. There are a number of us that I believe he is going to take.”

In his seven-round mock draft, Chris Trapasso, an NFL Draft expert for CBS Sports, predicts that a total of thirteen Michigan players will be taken. However, other seven-round mock drafts predict that as many as seventeen former Wolverines would be selected.

Harbaugh will indeed select two of his former players, according to Trapasso. Linebacker Junior Colson will be selected in the third round, and running back Blake Corum will be selected in the fifth round.

This offseason, a record number of 18 Michigan athletes were invited to participate in the combine, which was a record for the school. There is a possibility that the university will be able to surpass the record that Georgia established in 2022 when the Bulldogs had a total of 15 players included in the draft.
