Joe Burrow sends clear message after Kansas City Chiefs blowout loss ends Cincinnati Bengals season

After the Cincinnati Bengals just missed the playoffs, Joe Burrow gave a strong message to their supporters.

The Bengals will have to watch postseason action from home despite their 9-8 record and 19-17 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In Week 18, they needed the Broncosto team lose to the Kansas City Chiefs in Denver, and their destiny rested on that outcome.

However, with the top seed in the AFC already secured, Chiefs coach Andy Reid made the decision to bench his starting lineup and prominent players prior to the game.

With a 38-0 victory, the Broncos dominated the contest and guaranteed their own postseason berth.

Burrow shared a photo of himself with top receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase as they walked out for the coin toss on Instagram.

“Season to remember, sorry you won’t be able to watch anymore,” the caption said.

“Year 5 in the books.”

The comment that Chase wrote on the post said, “MVP LOADING.”

Although he is one of the favorites to win the NFL’s highest individual award, Burrow will have to contend with tough competition from players like Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Saquon Barkley.

In terms of both yards thrown (4,918, a career best) and touchdowns thrown (43), Burrow, 28, was the league leader.

He became just the third player after Hall of Famers Drew Brees (2012) and Dan Marino (1986) to miss the playoffs after throwing for 40 touchdowns.

The Bengals finished the season with five straight victories after a 4-8 start, and they will be looking to improve next season.

Four members of the coaching staff were let go on Monday, so there have already been casualties.

Among them were offensive line coach Frank Pollack and defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

It won’t be difficult to find replacements, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

“I think it has to be as appealing as it can be,” he stated.
