Jon Gosselin announces engagement to Stephanie Lebo and reveals details of emotional proposal

In a heartfelt proposal, Jon Gosselin declared his engagement to Stephanie Lebo.

After months of preparation, the 47-year-old former Jon and Kate Plus Eight star, who has been dating 37-year-old Stephanie Lebo for over three years, proposed.

As they announced the good news to their fans on social media, the TV favorite posted a picture of him kissing Stephanie.

In a second photo, Stephanie displayed her enormous diamond engagement ring.

“Of course I said yes,” she wrote as the caption, adding a heart emoji.

“You don’t know how long I waited for this day for you, and there was a time where I thought it was never going to happen for you,” Lebo’s father wrote in a heartfelt tribute after the proposal.

“You and Jon have my utmost happiness.

“Never stop being in love is the finest advise I can give. “Love comes first.”

Jon told the Sun last month that he had been planning his proposal for months and that he wanted it to be a “intimate” surprise.

Months of planning

At author Thea de Sousa’s launch party for The Unofficial Vanderpump Rules Ultimate Trivia Book at SUR in West Hollywood this week, he spoke with The U.S. Sun.

After being given a second chance at love, Jon DJ’d the event, which was powered by CellSound, and shared the specifics of his engagement and wedding.

“She has no idea,” he continued, “but I’m absolutely popping the question. I have everything planned out in my head.

“It’s funny because we re both tricksters and like to play tricks on each other, so she’ll know when it happens.”

“Oh yes,” he said when asked if he had already gone ring shopping. It took me some time since I’m quite particular and detailed about what I want—and what she wants, of course.

“I didn t know there were so many options, and there are… because the last time I got engaged, I was like 20 years old.”

He married his ex-wife, Kate, in 1999, and on October 8, 2000, she gave birth to twins, Madelyn “Mady” Kate and Cara Nicole.

On May 10, 2004, she gave birth to their sextuplets, which included daughters Alexis Faith, Hannah Joy, and Leah Hope, and sons Aaden Jonathan, Collin Thomas, and Joel Kevin.

“I’m marrying my best friend, I’ve never had that before,” Jon says, acknowledging that this marriage will be significantly different for him.

“I’ve always believed it was under pressure. After watching TV, I never imagined that I would be so honest and transparent with someone.

He noted that although his initial proposal was very private, he would like to include family this time, but it would still be “heartwarming” and intimate.

“It’s definitely love,” Jon continued. I’m purchasing wifi and texting her as I board the aircraft.”

Then he made a joke, saying, “I’m Korean, therefore I would never do that.

When asked if she helps him with his profession because he travels much, he replied, “I think so, sure! Tonight, she texted me, “I love you, have fun.”

“I think our wedding, it s up to her, a more intimate wedding and a bigger reception, but I don t know I m just going along for the ride, I m 47.”

“I just need a vacation where I don’t have to work,” he added, referring to a honeymoon.

You’re going to LA, you’re going here, you’re going here,” all of my buddies say. I haven’t slept for twenty hours, so I’m like, Dude, I have to work.”

Collin and Hannah, Jon’s children, lived with him and are still close to their father even after they left the nest.

He is still distant from his older twins, Mady and Cara, as well as his six other children, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel.

He earlier stated that he would be delighted to see his family again and that he would be pleased to see Stephanie and his ex-wife Kate communicate.
