Kamala Harris and Biden stay in Washington DC after canceling Christmas trips as threat of government shutdown looms
KAMALA Harris and Joe Biden will stay in Washington, DC, instead of traveling for Christmas.
Due to the possibility of a government shutdown, their trip plans were cancelled.
Before her office confirmed that she would stay in the nation’s capital, Harris was scheduled to take a plane to Los Angeles.
Additionally, Biden has postponed his trip to Delaware for Christmas.
At the Delaware Air National Guard Base in New Castle, photos showed the departing president boarding Marine Force One.
Later, he was spotted hobbling back to the White House.
A bill that would have kept the government open until March 14 was agreed upon by leading Republicans and Democrats.
The law includes a $10 billion package for farmers and over $100 billion for disaster relief.
However, the bill was completely rejected by Donald Trump and his transition team.
Lawmakers were forced to start over as a result.
