Kansas City Chiefs in major Super Bowl blow with key Patrick Mahomes target injured for rest of season
For the rest of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs will be without their Super Bowl LVIII hero.
This season, Patrick Mahomes and his team are aiming for a historic three-peat.
No club has ever won three straight Lombardi trophies in the history of the modern NFL.
On Sunday, the Chiefs play the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game.
However, Mecole Hardman won’t be appearing in the game as a Kansas City star.
Due to a knee injury, Hardman will miss the rest of the 2024–2025 season.

After collecting the game-winning touchdown in the previous year’s Super Bowl, the 26-year-old wide receiver has had a season marred by injuries.
In overtime against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, Hardman intercepted a flawless ball from Mahomes to seal the victory.
“Dude, I won’t lie. After the 25–22 victory, Hardman told CBS Sports, “I caught that pass and I blacked out.”
“I didn’t know what was going on until I saw Pat running to me, and I’m like, ‘Oh we just won, okay yeah let’s celebrate.'”
Hardman will have no choice but to observe from the stands if the Chiefs reach a third consecutive showpiece.
In November, the former Georgia standout was placed on injured reserve.
Coach Andy Reid has stated that the receiver will not be activated during the 21-day window, even though he resumed light workouts earlier this month.
“Yeah, we’ll probably put him back on IR there,” Reid stated on Wednesday.
Hardman had 12 appearances for the 15-2 Chiefs prior to his knee injury in Week 14.
He finishes the season with five rushes for 62 yards and a touchdown and 12 receptions for 90 yards.
