Kansas City Chiefs in major Super Bowl boost with top star back in practice after injury just days before Eagles game

As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to play the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, they may be able to regain an offensive component.

A wide receiver with an injury has returned to practice for Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs offense.

Skyy Moore, a wideout, was a limited participant in the day’s practice on Thursday after the Chiefs announced that he had been placed back on Injured Reserve.

The 24-year-old might therefore be added to the 53-man roster for the February 9 Super Bowl in New Orleans.

Moore suffered a core muscle injury in October, which put him on IR.

However, the wide receiver didn’t register a catch and only received three targets before to his injury.

In the 2022 NFL Draft, Kansas City selected Moore in the second round.

Moore was anticipated to be the team’s answer following the trade of All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

However, as a rookie, the Western Michigan product only recorded 22 receptions.

With five receptions and even a touchdown in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Moore did show promise in his maiden postseason appearance.

He would participate in just 82 offensive snaps this season after recording just 21 catches the season after.

Moore had two kick returns with an average of 21.5 yards.

JuJu Smith-Shuster, Marquise Brown, rookie Xavier Worthy, and tradedeadline addition DeAndre Hopkins are just a few of the wide outs the Chiefs have used on offense this season.

Given the team’s current depth chart and the length of time Moore has lost, it will be difficult for him to earn a berth on the Super Bowl squad.

There were more Chiefs injury updates on Thursday besides Moore.

The right tackle Jawaan Taylor was listed as full the day before, but was later relegated to a limited participant.

Cornerback Jaylen Watson, safety Bryan Cook (quad), and Mahomes (ankle) continued to play full time.

The Chiefs will try to pull off the first-ever three-peat in league history.
