Katherine Fernandez Rundle and Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office: A Profile in Legal Leadership
MIAMI — Katherine Fernandez Rundle has served as Miami-Dade County’s state attorney for over three decades.
She has since won reelection seven times, and she will be automatically reelected to a four-year term if no one files to run against her in the next two weeks.
Katherine Fernandez Rundle and the State Attorney’s Office for Miami-Dade. Among other things, Rundle is recognized for establishing the first domestic abuse court in the state and a task force on human trafficking. Her term hasn’t been without controversy, though.
Though many dubious police shootings have occurred, she has never brought charges against a police officer for shooting and killing someone while they were on duty.
