MIAMI — Katherine Fernandez Rundle has served as Miami-Dade County’s state attorney for over three decades.

She has since won reelection seven times, and she will be automatically reelected to a four-year term if no one files to run against her in the next two weeks.

Though many dubious police shootings have occurred, she has never brought charges against a police officer for shooting and killing someone while they were on duty.
