LeBron James breaks silence after Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade between LA Lakers and Dallas Mavericks

A heartfelt farewell to comrade Anthony Davis was posted by LEBRON James.

After Davis’ historic departure from the New Orleans Pelicans, the two joined forces in 2019.

After the season resumed in the bubble, they won an NBA title together in 2020.

When Davis was traded to the Dallas Mavericks late Saturday night, the two parted ways.

In return for five-time first-team All-NBA player Doncic, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka sent AD, Max Christie, and his team’s 2029 first-round selection.

Following the revelation, James shared a photo of himself and Davis cuddling.

“I love you, my dog!” he wrote. Go nuts there!

“Alas, 4L! I’ll see you shortly.

The 40-year-old included an emoji of tears as well.

The transaction was mentioned by Davis himself in a tearful Instagram post on Monday.

It said, “I arrived here six years ago with the goal of winning a championship, and I will always remember that moment!

“Like all other businesses, the basketball industry is a business.” I will always have a place in the city where my first ring originated, and I am thankful for the opportunity to grow my family and friendships there.

We continue to think about those who lost their homes in the fires, and my family and I are grateful to everyone who helped make this place a home.

To my teammates: LA will always hold a particular place in my heart, and our friendships transcend the locker room.

“Every great story has an exciting next chapter Dallas- Here we come!”

On February 25, Davis will return to Los Angeles when the Mavericks play the Lakers.

On April 9, Doncic will play in his third-to-last game of the season when he returns to Dallas.

‘I THOUGHT I’D SPEND MY CAREER HERE’

“I came here as a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level seven years ago,” the Slovenian wrote, thanking Dallas.

“I genuinely wanted to win a title for you because I felt like I had spent my entire career here.

“I could never have imagined the amount of love and support I have received from all of you.

“You made North Texas feel like home to a little Slovenian child who was visiting the United States for the first time.

“Your support has remained constant during both good and bad times, from injuries to the NBA Finals.

“Thank you not only for sharing my joy in our best moments but also for lifting me up when I needed it most.”

After that, Doncic expressed gratitude to the “organizations I’ve worked with throughout the Dallas community.”
