LeBron James extends incredible NBA All-Star streak as Victor Wembanyama is overlooked despite awesome Paris show
LeBron James has extended his amazing NBA record by being chosen an All-Star once more.
LeBron has advanced to the All-Star game for the twenty-first time, despite being forty years old and having a somewhat poor season.
He had already broken the joint record of 19 that he and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had held until the previous season.
A combination of media, fans, and current players vote to choose the starters.
Fans receive 50% of the vote, which is skewed in their favor.
Following that, they are weighted 25% for media members and 25% for active players.

Mark Daignault of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Kenny Atkinson of the Cleveland Cavaliers have also been chosen as the coaches.
James, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), and Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors) are the Western starters.
The night of Victor Wembanyama’s spectacular Parisian homecoming, he was turned down.
Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics), Karl-Anthony Towns (Knicks), and Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks) are the East starters.
Only the Eastern and Western Conferences’ starting five have been revealed thus far; the other teams won’t be revealed until the following week.
Due to declining viewership and fan complaints about the lack of competition, the game has undergone yet another format change this year.
Next Thursday, seven coaches-selected players from each conference will be revealed on Inside the NBA on TNT.
Four teams of eight players apiece will compete in the All-Star game.
GMs Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith, who are part of the Inside the NBA staff, will be responsible for selecting three clubs.
A group of players from the Rising Stars event will make up the fourth team, which will have Candace Parker as its “honourary” general manager.
That includes G League players as well as first and second-year NBA players.
The first team to score 40 points will advance to the semifinals, and the two winning teams will then play each other in the championship.
New rights deal
Three networks and the NBA inked an 11-year agreement for the league’s rights starting in 2025–2026.
Additionally, for the first time since the network’s 1988 debut, TNT will not be hosting any games.
ESPN and ABC will continue to broadcast the league’s 80 regular-season games, according to The Walt Disney Company.
The NBA Finals will continue to be held there, along with about 18 playoff games from the first and second rounds and a Conference Finals series for ten of the eleven years.
For the first time since 2002, NBC will broadcast the NBA again.
Up to 100 games will be broadcast on the network’s channels and Peacock streaming service each season.
In addition, it will host NBA All-Star games and include about 28 first- and second-round playoff games.
NBC will alternate with upstart broadcaster Amazon Prime to telecast one Conference Finals Series for six of the eleven years.
66 NBA regular-season games, including one on Black Friday, will be available on Amazon.
The complete Play-In Tournament and the final stages of the NBA Cup are also available on the streaming service.
Additionally, about one-third of the first- and second-round playoff games will be televised on Prime.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver stated at a press conference in Paris that he was “optimistic” the modifications will make the game more competitive and thrilling for spectators.
He had been asked if he had thought about playing the USA against the rest of the world, but he didn’t think it was fair because the NBA still has a 70-30 American player pool.
“This year, we’re trying out a new format,” Silver stated. I still believe that the All-Star Game will continue to be competitive and fun for the fans.
“We weren’t there last year, for sure.
