Legendary Wheel of Fortune presenter Chuck Woolery dies aged 83 after TV star ‘fell suddenly ill’ at his Texas home

HISTORICAL Chuck Woolery, host of the dating game and Wheel of Fortune, passed away at the age of 83.

The TV star unexpectedly became unwell and passed away at his Texas home on Saturday.

Mark Young, Chuck’s longtime friend and podcast cohost, verified the information.

Mark posted on social media site X, now known as Twitter: “I must inform you with sadness that my beloved brother has recently gone away.

“Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother.”

The cause of Chuck’s death has not been established.

Mark, however, told TMZ that Chuck wasn’t feeling well and decided to lie down while they were visiting him at home.

Later, Chuck came back into the room to inform him that he was having breathing difficulties. Mark called 911, but Chuck was unable to get through.

Chuck’s most well-known role was hosting Wheel of Fortune from 1975 until 1982.

From 1983 until 1994, he hosted the dating program Love Connection.

Additionally, Chuck hosted game shows like Greed, Lingo, and Scrabble.

Charles “Chuck” Herbert Woolery was born in Ashland, Kentucky, on March 16, 1941, and started his career in entertainment as a pianist.

In the folk song trio The Bordermen, he played the double bass and sang.

Additionally, he sang with the psychedelic pop duo The Avant-Garde.

Later, Chuck pursued acting, making an appearance in the movie The Treasure of Jamaica Reef from the 1970s.
