“Life Cut Short!” DC Man, Hospitalized Throughout His Life, Killed In Suitland Collision
DEBARYLIFE – Investigators say that on Sunday, May 5, just before 4 p.m., Tyrone Allen, Jr., a 25-year-old resident of Washington, DC, died in a collision between a sedan and a pick-up truck on the 3600 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland.
Allen was fatally injured after both cars collided in the eastern lane of the road, according to Prince George’s County Police Department investigators.
After being taken to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead. All of the other drivers’ and passengers’ injuries from the collision were not life-threatening.
Before he passed away, Tyrone Allen, Sr., Allen’s father, stated that his son had “sickle cell disease and has spent his life in and out of the hospital, sometimes in (a) coma, and extreme pain.”

“For his life to end this way, it’s so gut-wrenching and very difficult to process him no longer being with us,” said his dad.
“The funeral home notified us that they would not be able to set up any arrangements until a payment has been made.”
On behalf of the Allen family, a GoFundMe was created, and in just its first day, almost $2,000 was raised. You can find it right here.
