Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick holds back tears after losing home to deadly LA fire as NBA cancels two more games
Due to flames raging across Los Angeles, the NBA has canceled two additional games this weekend.
The disaster has damaged homes in the Los Angeles area, including one that Lakers coach JJ Redick resided.
Redick described his fear on Friday while fighting back tears.
At least 11 people have been killed in the blazes that have devastated southern California.
The Los Angeles Lakers vs. Charlotte Hornets game was already canceled by the NBA for Thursday night.
Additionally, two more Saturday night competitions have been rescheduled.

The San Antonio Spurs were scheduled to play the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.
At Intuit Dome, the Los Angeles Clippers were playing the Hornets.
“The NBA and the Clippers and Lakers organizations have been in communication with local officials in Los Angeles and Inglewood regarding the ongoing situation,” the league said in a statement.
“The game postponements ensure no resources will be diverted from the wildfire response efforts.”
This week, the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames NHL game was also postponed.
Additionally, State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona has been selected to host Monday’s NFL playoff game.
The Minnesota Vikings were scheduled to play the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
However, the Arizona Cardinals’ home will now serve as a neutral venue for that NFC matchup.
Redick, the coach of the Lakers, was devastated when his house was destroyed by fire.
While he was with the team on Tuesday for a road game in Dallas, the coach reported that the rented residence caught fire.
“I’m not sure I’ve wept or wailed like that in several years,” Redick stated.
“What I witnessed caught me off guard.
“There is total wreckage and desolation. The majority of the village is gone, but I had to take a different route to get to the house.
I don’t think I’ve cried or screamed like that in a long time.
“I don’t believe you can ever get ready for that kind of tragedy. We lost our house.
“That house contained everything we possessed that held any significance for us during our nearly two decades as a married and our ten years as parents.
There are some things that are irreplaceable and cannot be replaced.
