Lyle and Erik Menendez to make first virtual court appearance in fight for freedom as their fate remains in limbo

As their struggle for freedom gets underway, LYLE and Erik Menendez are set to appear in court for the first time in almost three decades.

For a status hearing on their possible resentencing, the renowned brothers—who have been incarcerated since the 1989 double murders of their parents, Jose and Kitty—are scheduled to virtually appear in court on Monday.

When former Los Angeles District Attorney George Gasc, who was not seated on Election Day, submitted petition on October 25 requesting a judge to reconsider resentencing the brothers, claiming fresh evidence, Lyle, 56, and Erik, 53, launched their quest for release.
