Lyle Menendez’s wife slams ‘enough is enough’ as brother Erik celebrates birthday in prison days after latest legal blow

Days after the murdering brothers found out they would be spending the holidays behind bars, LYLE Menendez’s estranged wife sent an indignant message on social media as her brother-in-law turned 54.

Rebecca Sneed blasted authorities for allowing Erik and Lyle Menendez to spend their 35th Thanksgiving and Christmas behind bars, decades after they were given life sentences for killing their parents with a shotgun.

After a court postponed the Menendez brothers’ resentencing hearing on Monday, Sneed, who married Lyle in 2003 but just announced their split, expressed her annoyance.

Originally set for December 11, the hearing might have resulted in the brothers being released on parole while Judge Michael Jesic considered resentencing them for the 1996 conviction of shooting their parents to death.

Erik, 56, and Erik, who turned 54 on Wednesday, are incarcerated in a California state jail for life without the possibility of release.

George Gasc, the departing Los Angeles County District Attorney, suggested last month that their sentences be lowered to 50 years to life in prison with the possibility of parole, making them instantly eligible for it.

Judge Jesic, however, moved the hearing to January 30 because he wanted more time to consider the evidence in the case before rendering a ruling.

In a Facebook group devoted to her husband on Wednesday, Sneed criticized the decision.

“Tomorrow will be the guys 35th Thanksgiving in prison,” she stated.

“They will celebrate their 35th Christmas behind bars next month. Erik’s 35th birthday in prison is today as well.

“We can be angry and still wish him a happy birthday,” she added.

“Enough is enough.”
