On the second anniversary of the child’s disappearance following her mother’s departure from the country, MADALINA Cojocari police have provided a fresh update.

On November 21, 2022, the 11-year-old schoolgirl went missing after getting off her school bus.

Diana Cojocari was first publicly identified as a suspect by the Cornelius Police Department in a July social media post.

Madalina’s mother made a Facebook post a few days before to the police statement, seemingly indicating that she was leaving the country.

A purported Facebook photo of Diana Cojocari traveling with her mother to Eastern Europe was discovered on July 6 by the Where is Madalina Cojocari? Facebook page.

According to the post, she was taking a plane to Germany before continuing on to Bucharest, the capital of Romania, which shares a border with Moldova.

The caption read, “On the way from New York JFK to Frankfurt then to Bucharest,” and included a photo she took while flying.

“After nine years of absence from the country.”

Additionally, she posted an image of a poem titled “The Echo.”

The poem talks about a daughter who is trying to find her mother.

The poem asks, “I’m calling my mother, you echo, who are you calling?”

After reportedly leaving the US, Madalina’s mother posted pictures from her new life that same month.

In one picture, Diana is smiling at the camera while clutching a big sunflower.

Reading the caption, “Daddy’s Lui garden…”

The mother was seen standing in front of a lake in another photo, sporting sunglasses.

Diana also shared a number of pictures of lakes, landscapes, and sunsets.

The caption stated, “Si asta e Romania,” which roughly translates to, “And this is Romania.”

According to a post, other images seem to be close-ups of flowers that might be in her father’s garden.

Although the exact date of Diana Cojocari’s departure from the United States is unknown, Homeland Security Investigations confirmed her departure in September.

After waiting three weeks, Madalina’s parents finally filed a missing person’s report.

Since the maximum jail term was 24 months, Diana was freed in May.
