Madden and College Football 25 creators EA Sports lose out on millions after stocks plummet by nearly 20% in two days
Electronic Arts, a titan in video games, has seen a sharp decline in its stock price.
On Thursday, the well-known Maddeneries’ publishers experienced their worst one-day stock performance since 2008.
In a one day, EA Sportshad’s share worth was wiped down by 17%.
Ahead of the company’s complete third-quarter earnings report, which is due in early February, it fell 1.7% more on Friday.
Since 2004, EA has owned the rights to create exclusive NFL games.
Every year, generally a few weeks before to the start of each new season, they issue new Madden editions.

Additionally, College Football 25 was released this year and swiftly rose to the top of the US sports video game sales charts.
However, it appears that the share decline was caused by EA Sports FC’s poor performance, the company’s yearly soccer match.
According to Front Office Sports, Wedbush analysts stated that EA was “caught off guard by the shortfall and isn’t certain about how to address it.”
The business anticipates “net bookings of approximately $2.215 billion for the third fiscal quarter and an updated range of $7 billion to $7.15 billion for fiscal year 2025” .
According to Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, “we continued to deliver high-quality games and experiences across our portfolio during Q3.”
“EA SPORTS FC 25 and Dragon Age, however, fell short of our net bookings projections.
“In addition to our yearly FC 25 Team of the Year release, our teams also provided a thorough gameplay update this month.
“The initial outcomes and positive player feedback are heartening.
“We remain confident in our long-term strategy and expect a return to growth in FY26, as we execute against our pipeline.”
The upcoming Madden 26 edition is scheduled for release in August.
For those who pre-order the game’s deluxe version, a three-day early release is anticipated.
The 2025 cover star is being anxiously anticipated by fans.
Last year’s cover featured Christian McCaffrey, a running back with the San Francisco 49ers.
