Major Trevor Lawrence injury update as Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson makes announcement on quarterback
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS head coach Doug Pederson has given an update on Trevor Lawrence.
The quarterback missed the match against the Minnesota Vikings last week.
And it has now been confirmed that he has an injury to his left, non-throwing shoulder.
Pederson said: “Trevor [Lawrence] will be out. We just decided this week.
“He’s getting close, but to make sure that, again, you guys know how I am with injuries.
“We don’t want to put a player out there that’s not 100 per cent.”

And Pederson was unsure as to whether Lawrence would be able to return for the Week 13 match against the Houston Texans.
He said: “Still a question mark, but I’m optimistic.”
The coach then released further positive news as he said Lawrence was unlikely to need to undergo surgery.
He commented: “There’s not been a talk on surgery, so I don’t know where the surgery-talk is coming from. Nothing like that.
And he added: “I think that’s a question for our medical team, obviously.
“That’s not my place to say and I have no idea where it’s coming from.”
Lawrence’s absence means that Mac Jones will start again against the Lions.
Jones struggled in his appearance last week against the Vikings, completing just 63.6 per cent of his passes for 111 yards, two interceptions and one lost fumble.
But Pederson remains confident in what Jones can deliver this week.
He said: “He’s excited to have another opportunity. A chance for him to rebound from last week.
“But, I think as a team, same way. Rally around him and support him and get ready to play a really good football team.”
The Jaguars currently sit bottom of the AFC South with a 2-8 record.
And that leaves them in a position to pick first in the 2025 NFL draft, as things stand.
Following their 12-7 defeat to the Vikings, Jaguars coach Pederson was slammed for how little his team offered in offence.
The 33rd Team’s Marcus Mosher said: “Mac Jones got the start, and he is one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL.
“Yet, didn’t do anything all day. The Jaguars put together a nine-play, 70-yard touchdown drive early in the first quarter, and that would be their only points of the day.
“Their other nine drives totaled 93 yards, with six failing to gain a first down.
“Jacksonville’s defense did its part, forcing three Sam Darnold interceptions and allowing just 12 points.

“Still, the offense couldn’t put together a single drive in the second half of more than 40 yards.
“In fact, it had just one drive of more than 15 yards in the second half, and it ended with an interception.”
