Man found dead in Cass River near Heritage Park in Frankenmuth

FOX 2.Last Monday, a 52-year-old man from Michigan who had gone missing was discovered dead in the Cass River at Frankenmuth.

Police dive teams found and collected Robert Loren Bacon’s body in the river, close to Heritage Park, on January 4. Since December 30, Bacon has not been seen.

The Saginaw County Medical Examiner’s Office is currently looking into the case, although drowning seems to be the preliminary cause of death. The circumstances behind Mr. Bacon’s death are still being investigated.

Bacon, who lives in Byron, which is located just west of Fenton, was last observed on December 27 during a family get-together at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth.

“The Frankenmuth Police Department, the Frankenmuth Community, First Responders, and the Bavarian Inn Lodge extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Robert Bacon during this difficult time,” stated the FPD on its Facebook page.
