Manhattan Subway Station Attack: Straphanger Slashed, Attacker Remains At Large

DEBARYLIFE – The NYPD reported that early on Sunday morning, a guy with a sword attacked a 36-year-old lady in a Lower East Side subway station.

As a result of a 911 call, the victim, who was not identified, was discovered by police to have a cut on her left leg at the Delancey Street/Essex Street station, according to a department representative on Sunday.

At Bellevue Hospital, where she was taken by authorities, her health is stable.

Authorities cannot say whether the attack was unprovoked and are unsure of what led up to it.

A blue hat and a navy blue backpack were among the items they described the suspect as wearing. Police added that after the attack, he made his getaway on a southbound J train.

Not one arrest has been made by the police. According to them, the investigation is still ongoing.
