Map reveals a THIRD of US has porn bans in place after Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee bring in age restrictions
According to a recent map, a third of the US has legislation in place to prevent kids from accessing porn.
Florida has joined an increasing number of US states that have enacted laws restricting minors’ access to adult websites.
Georgia is anticipated to join the list of states that have limited access to porn beginning of January 1, bringing the total to 18.
PORN CRACKDOWN
Because of laws that crack down on underage users, Pornhub decided to ban access to its website for people in 15 states before the New Year began.
Legislation mandating age verification to access porn has been passed in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, Oklahoma, and Virginia.
Following the implementation of their new legislation, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina were added to the list on January 1.

When Georgia’s measure is passed in July, it will become the 19th state to impose limits on porn websites.
According to a recent map, a third of US states will have restrictions on online adult content starting in 2025.
PORNHUB GOES DARK IN FLORIDA
Residents of Florida must prove they are 18 years of age or older in order to access adult content platforms as of January 1.
Regardless of the device they use to access the websites, porn users are required to confirm their age.
Florida’s new law, known as HB 3, requires adult content sites to abide by it or risk a $50,000 fine for each infraction.
The law states that porn websites must remove all information and cannot keep it in order to perform age checks.
However, instead of adhering to the new rule, websites that provide adult content, such as Pornhub, have chosen to limit access to their platform in Florida.
The parent firm of Pornhub, Aylo, stated that it thinks there is a privacy risk when its users divulge their identities.
“As you may know, your elected officials in Florida are requiring us to verify your age before allowing you access to our website,” the business stated in a statement.
“While safety and compliance are at the forefront of our mission, giving your ID card every time you want to visit an adult platform is not the most effective solution for protecting our users, and in fact, will put children and your privacy at risk.”
While blocking Pornhub in Florida, the adult content firm stated the decision was “difficult.”
Aylo’s decision was rebutted by Florida state Republican Chase Tramont, who sponsored the bill that was enacted in March 2024, who said that the corporation was just choosing not to follow the law.

“It’s not a situation where they can’t comply, they simply don;t want to comply,” Tramont stated.
“If they truly believed in age verification and protecting children from accessing their sites, they would be doing it.”
